The creation of display models was how I became a LEGO artist in the first place, and since 2013 I have built dozens of models for a wide range of clients. They have included the headquarters of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, The Alnwick Garden, a life-sized Enigma Machine, Shackleton’s Endurance, The Bowes Museum and much more.
In a previous career I was an architectural photographer, so I am heavily drawn to architectural projects. In every project I aim to be as accurate as possible. I work at all sorts of scales, and sizes. These projects, as opposed to the custom kits I create, are about the ‘gawp factor’, as one client described them! Typically delivered complete and with protective cases, these models are intended to be talking points, a way of drawing people in.
